[ILLUSTRATION] Blood Rose
A surrealistic piece with one of my characters as the subject. Originally started off as a small emotional piece but grew into something worth spending a few hours on. Themes for the picture center around beauty, pain and decay
Started with the base sketch while I gathered my thoughts for the piece.
Added flowers and facial features as well as other details, taking a more surrealistic approach.
Refined the lines and inked them--ready for color.
To help with color theory, a different shade of the color I'd be using for coloring was placed underneath the main pallet's layer
Flat colors!
Started to shade with the pale pink, however turned the color layer on to see how it was looking this far!
